Absolutely beautiful construction with kiln-dry cedar Post and Beam construction, the ambience is Wonderful.
You can not buy this from VRBO or Home Away. We have earned this by being a good value, with an honest description of the house, and any issues quickly resolved. In the land of snow, ice, and sometimes freezing rain, we can not guarantee good weather. However, we try to make you comfortable and enjoy your stay.
An ice cream scoop, super-fast internet, plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware, blenders, mixers, pots, pans and more. Renters say they love how well stocked our house is with everything they need. This house was originally built with a separate apartment in the lower level so kids/teens can hang downstairs in their own living area.

It took us 2 years to find just the right house, the right location, and everything important to us. We are not on Okemo - Yes, we have elbow room in our neighborhood. The VAST Trail is 1/2 mile away.
We were both born and raised in central Connecticut. Susan and Steven both grew up in Farmington Valley family businesses.
We both graduated Simsbury High School. Susan went onto college in Denver Colorado, and Steven went onto pursue a skiing college "Double major :-))" at Northeastern University. Ski Racing and Marketing.
Steven went onto become a PSIA ski instructor. Skiing is a big part of our lives.
The house is designed with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the top floor. One is a very large master en suite. The other 2 share a full bath. On the main floor right off the kitchen is another large bedroom with a queen bed and there is a full bathroom easily accessible right off the kitchen as well. This room is ideal for grandparents or anyone that is challenged by too many stairs.
The lower level provides for another master set-up with a queen bed and full bath. There is another full bath for the bunk room and the 2 pull out couches.
One of America's Greatest Gems is the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) trail system. Founded over 50 years ago the Snowmobile Trail system in Vermont is over 4,700 miles!

Perhaps the biggest improvement since we've been here. No Power Lines across the backyard.
We have made a concerted effort to provide comfortable furniture and beds.
We also have 4 fire extinguishers, CO protection, monitored 24/7 .
We stock the house with firewood. There should be enough for a fire each day you are here.
This Lindal Cedar home was built in the early 1990's, and there are actually 2 kitchens.

We are in desirable section of town known as South Hill. There are 2 invigorating run or walk routes, 1.25 or 2.3 mile routes.
Night walks are Amazing! Thousands of stars, and moon light. Quite often listening to the distant sound of snow guns and Okemo's amazing snow grooming machines.
We needed a place to repose after a ski day at Okemo. We enjoyed a real home away from home. This welcoming house was easy to find and conveniently located to the mountain. It’s devised to leave your boots and gear at the door in the front foyer; I appreciated being able to walk around in your socks. We took advantage of the fireplace and relaxed with the large TV. If we stayed longer, I’m sure I would have played a game or two from the bookcase. The room themes and bear items around the house were entertaining. We cooked in the upstairs kitchen and it had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the Keurig for my minority decaf coffee. The beds were super comfortable; always essential to everyone. Good showers too. We stayed in only a portion of this abode. There is enough separate space for two families to stay comfortably. And you can park right in front of the door for easy off-load. I would definitely come back here for another stay. The owners are tremendous too!
We loved the house. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Being only a few minutes outside of downtown Ludlow, you have easy access to everything and only a short drive to the mountain. The Hot tub was great after a long day of skiing.
My family joined 3 others for a ski weekend at Okemo. This house was perfect. So convenient to the mountain. We cooked our meals, played board games, gathered around the tv. Even those that didn't ski enjoyed how close the house was to town. The kids enjoyed their own space downstairs while the adults enjoyed their own quiet room upstairs. Really a perfect set up! Steve, the owner was so nice. He even found our left behind items and sent them to us!
Our 3-generation family of 11 enjoyed a long weekend here. It was very comfortable, and had lots of room for us to gather or to spread out. The owners were extremely nice, easy to get hold of when we had questions, and very helpful.
This is the quintessential Vermont experience for any large family, Leadership Retreat, or Church Group looking for their own beautiful, clean, spacious mini-resort any time of year.
We were astounded by this home's enormous size and exceptional design. The decor is delightful with each of the many, many bedrooms showing off its unique, charming themes (bears, airplanes, fishing, etc.). It's wonderful!
Every bedroom (and all the beds!) are very comfortable with plenty of closets and dressers to put everyone's clothes. Some of the furniture is rather fine antiques, practically museum quality!
And then there's the Master Bedroom with an ensuite bathroom AND a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom itself, all just across the room from your private balcony. Honestly, we would stay here again just for this one room...
Common areas accommodate any number of small groups (or younger people) to relax and enjoy each other's company. They give privacy to each group for discussions or break out sessions. Two fireplaces (we used both) make it very cozy for anyone wanting to find a few moments of rest or for everyone to just sit and gaze into the crackling flames.
And two kitchens! Again, we used both. This comes in especially handy if their are younger people who want their own space. It gave us the idea of putting a second kitchen in our home now that our kids are getting older. Fabulous idea.
The Hot Tub is the icing on the cake. To come home from skiing, or to enjoy the sunrise with coffee, or to watch the stars at night, there is nothing like this Hot Tub in the hills of Vermont. Everything works perfectly and the jets are really strong, though we like just sitting and soaking.
So many decks! Three decks and a screened sunroom allow for everyone, or seperate groups, to be outside to experience the fresh air and quiet surroundings. We loved having all this outside space to meditate - or for grilling a steak!
Truly, it's difficult to describe the incredible charm of this home. Vermont is one of those real-life places that really is like it looks in the movies. And we have never found a more idyllic Vermont setting than this splendid hideaway.
Seriously, if you've been given the task of finding the best place for your group or your family to stay, look no further. You've found it. They WILL thank you. Like us, you'll be coming back as soon as possible!
